Newborn sessions at my Peterhead studio are created with you in mind - sentimental mothers who want to document their families with ease and intentionality. I know what it’s like to be a busy mother, and I have created an experience for you that gives you the opportunity to be in the moment with your littlest love, capturing them when they are at their squishiest.
I fully support you through the entire process. From walking you through creating the vision from our time together all the way to designing customised artwork after the shoot, my goal is for you to truly love reflecting on what you have created. These images are meant to be enjoyed for generations to come.

I am one of very few newborn photographers in Aberdeenshire that specialise in a more natural, baby led style of newborn photography. My goal is to create simple, timeless photographs of your newborn, capturing every detail beautifully.
Our daughters first photo session with Samantha was honestly one of the best days after we brought her home. It was so relaxed which suited us to a tee. Getting professional photos is not our idea of fun but when we visited Sam it was like going to see a pal. And when we got to see the final results I actually cried. Our framed photo and album takes pride of place in our home.

Are we a fit? lets chat!
The next step in the process is to organise a little get together before baby arrives! Let’s face it, you are trusting me with the most important little person in your world, so I think its super important to meet with you before hand so you get to know me before handing over your pride and joy. You’ll be invited to the studio for a coffee and we will chat through everything you need to know about your newborn session. I’ll go into detail on how to best prepare your family, newborn (and even the dog if you decide to include them too!). The aim from this chat is to walk away with all questions answered,

Coffee and claick
At the end of your newborn session, I'll set a date to invite you back into the studio so you can view your images for the first time! This can get pretty emotional - for me too! I'll have tissues at the ready, and I'll be on hand to help you select the collection of images that best fits your family. You will also have the opportunity to see how your images will look on your own wall at home thanks to my state-of-the-art software only available in studio. My clients don’t intend to let their images live solely on hard drives and phone screens. Your Child’s image deserves to be proudly displayed in your home.
I will walk you through options for enjoying your images in your hands for years to come. I offer a full range of print products and all orders can be made during your viewing session. Easy peasy!

My studio is designed to be a warming, calming place where you can sit back and relax as I create magic.
When you are ready to book your session, we will pencil you in for your due date and then when baby arrives, we will arrange the date of your newborn photoshoot, that will take place at my studio in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire.

A: The earlier the better. Bookings can be made anytime from the moment you find out you are pregnant, however, I do tend to book up quite far in advance so the earlier you book, the more likely I can guarantee your space. I only take on 8 newborn sessions per month (4 in summer months) to ensure I am able to give all my attention to you and your family.
Q:WHen should I book my newborn session?
A: I pencil in your newborn session for your due date. This guarantees your space for the month. However, let’s face it; babies are never on time. When baby arrives (either early or late), I ask you to get in touch with me as soon as possible and we will book in a date within the first two weeks.
Q: What happens when baby arrives?
A: On the day of your newborn session, I ask for you to arrive at 10am, and feed baby on arrival. There will be plenty of time to relax and feed or change your baby. There will be no one booked in immediately after you so you won’t feel rushed. I like to work in a calm environment. That’s best for your baby and for you two as new parents.
Once baby is fed, I get work creating magic, while you sit back, relax and enjoy a few peaceful moments.
You will be asked to come in some photographs during our time together so please come photo ready (mums, I do have a client wardrobe you are welcome to use).
Q: what happens at a newborn session?
A: My style lends itself towards simplistic, neutral and timeless. I exclusively shoot on white during my newborn sessions, so as parents to take this into account when deciding what to wear for the photos. Avoid loud patterns, large logos and bright colours to ensure the focus of the photograph is purely on your new family unit.
Whites, beiges, creams work well in my studio.
Mums - I got you covered. I have a client wardrobe you are more than welcome to use during our time together.
Q: What should we (parents) wear to the session?
My Studio is warm and relaxing. A trip to have newborn photos taken is possibly the first time you will venture out with your new baby so it is bound to be a little daunting. My studio is a little sanctuary where you can relax. The kettle will be on, and it will be like spending a few hours with a friend.
Q: Stressed about heading out with your newborn for the first time?
A: OF COURSE! This is a no brainer. These photographs should reflect your growing family and that includes siblings. We will discuss the practicalities of having siblings during the session at our coffee & claick, however, rest assured, I was a primary school teacher in a previous life, and mum to a 5 year old myself, so I am great with children from all ages.
Q: are siblings welcome in the studio?
A: Your viewing and ordering appointment is when you get to see your images for the first time. After your newborn session, we will schedule a date that works for you all to come back to the studio to view your images on the big screen. This is my favourite part of our journey together. I get to see first hand how much you love the photographs, and I am there to help you make any decisions on your chosen image collection and how you will display your photographs in your home.
All decision makers should be present within the appointment and payment for your chosen collection should be made during this time before any images are released. Pay in three options are available. Please just ask for more information.
